Birth of the Warrior: Shambhala Training Level II is part of the Way of Shambhala curriculum, an extensive path of training in authentic meditation practices and wisdom teachings.

The program is open to people of all religious backgrounds or no religious background. It is recommended for new and experienced meditators as well as those looking to enrich their personal spiritual path and social action.

Birth of the Warrior: Shambhala Training Level II builds on the presentation of basic goodness in Shambhala Level I, and explores how our experiences in life lead us to develop emotional and behavioral routines in order to keep ourselves in our familiar comfort zone.  However, maintaining this comfort zone diminishes our connection to others and to the natural world.  Meditation practice allows us to notice our habitual routines with fearlessness and without self-judgment. Seeing the contrast between maintaining familiar patterns and opening up to the energy of the present moment is the basis for moving towards genuineness.

This program will include mediation, talks and group discussions.

Our Teacher. Will Handy is a teacher and meditation instructor at the Dallas Shambhala Meditation Center. Will was a psychotherapist for 40 years. He finds great joy in getting to start people on the first few steps of the rich Buddhist path by guiding their practice and teaching.
