February 18th

Date details +
    Room: Villa Creek

Join us for a brief meditation followed by a special Dharma discussion. This is a hybrid event-both in person and online via Zoom. Everyone is welcome!

This week, we welcome Alley Smith, an ordained Buddhist Chaplain in the Shambhala Lineage, to lead our Dharma talk—Mindfulness Practice for Opening Your Heart to Self-Love.

About the Dharma talk: Do you ever find yourself so busy taking care of everyone and everything – that you’re the last person on the list? In this session, you will be welcomed into feelings of lightness and optimism. As you open up, you will find evidence which points to self-love as a form of appreciation. Allow yourself some sacred space to open your heart and feel the joy it brings.

“In order to develop loveuniversal love, cosmic love, whatever you would like to call it, one must accept the whole situation of life as it is, both the light and the dark, the good and the bad. One must open oneself to life, communicate with it.”

    -Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

    This session offers:

    • A mindfulness exercise for self-love and self-compassion
    • An opportunity to explore mindfulness in your self-care routine
    • Gratitude for “Showing-up”
    • An opportunity to practice in the comforts of your own home and/or practice space
    • An opportunity to practice meditation in community
    • An opportunity to share your experience in a safe and uplifted environment
