Harvest of Peace, held at the autumn equinox, is one of our traditional nyida (Tibetan, nyima "sun", dawa "moon") days. On these days we celebrate the seasonal changes of the fall and spring equinoxes and the winter and summer solstices. They are a time for inclusive, community-wide, family-friendly events that celebrate the riches of our local sangha and community.

So what kind of peace are we harvesting this Autumn? The peace that comes from the insights we have discovered in meditation. The peace within ourselves. Because as the Sakyong says “that sense of peace in us is what is going to make a big difference…"   This year, the Sakyong has also asked us to begin to envision enlightened society and we will start that conversation at this event.  Please join us for a provocative discussion as we envision what Enlightened Society might look like, how we might create it, and consider the inextricable connection between individual awakening and collective transformation.

Delia Mudge has kindly agreed to present an introduction to Shambhala Arts at this event as well.  The arts are an exciting new initiative that we are seeking to provide a home for within the expanding DSMC mandala.

This year's celebration will take place at a sangha member's home and will include a pitch-in dinner.  Everyone in the Dallas Shambhala sangha is invited.
