In Awareness Through Movement (ATM®), the instructor guides students through a series of movements organized around a particular function. Lessons consist of simple, small movements that gradually evolve into greater range and complexity.

ATM is the active version of The Feldenkrais Method, an approach to human movement, learning, and change based on physics, neuroscience, and physiology. The techniques and theory were developed by Moshe Feldenkrais, D.Sc., a physicist and the first Western black belt in judo.

Instructor Angela Alston, GCFP, MFA, began taking ATM in 1996. She trained at the Feldenkrais Institute of  NY with David Zemach-Bersin, and at the Feldenkrais Center of Houston with Paul Rubin, two of Dr. Feldenkrais’ original US students. Angela offers a regular series at MoveStudio and workshops in Dallas and beyond. She also offers private lessons (Functional Integration). Angela has studied yoga and dance, and is an award-winning maker of dance films.
