The end of the lunar calendar year is referred to as “the dön season.” This is a video of Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche explaining the meaning of the dön season. This video dates back to the dön season in 2008. The dön season for this year begins January 31 and ends on Shambhala Day, February 11, 2013, which is the beginning of the new year, the Year of the Water Snake.
